The Paramedic Method

1. Circle the prepositions (of, in, about, for, onto, into)
2. Draw a box around the "is" verb forms
3. Ask, "Where's the action?"
4. Change the "action" into a simple verb
5. Move the doer into the subject (Who's kicking whom)
6. Eliminate any unnecessary slow wind-ups
7. Eliminate any redundancies.

     So after I read the assignment and googled a little I kind of got excited about this assignment. Not that I'm like a total nerd or anything but of how funny you could make these examples. So here are my top 7:

7. I don't think anyone can acquire the time needed to do the required task. (14)

6. Whenever I get to marching band I have to walk up and down several flights of stairs in Brandt Music Hall to go to and from the marching band field for practice. (31)

    There are a lot of stairs in Brandt.(8)

5. My roommate can not grasp the idea that she could be misinformed about certain subjects that come up in conversation. (20)

    My roommate thinks she is always right. (7)

4. The weather today was particularly dreary and grey. (8)

    It was cloudy today. (4) 

3. I was walking to meet someone outside and stumbled after accidently hitting the door frame with my foot while I was heading out the door. (25)

    I tripped on the door frame. (6)

2. I think the amount of television that is watched by 5 to 12 year olds today is exponentially larger that it has been in the past 10 years when compared to like statistics. (33)

    Kids watch a lot of TV. (6)

1. The intelligences of the generation of adults around my age are so low that i can not comprehend it most of the time that I come in contact with it.  (30)

    People are so dumb I don't even understand. (8)
